Data detection

The new version of Apple’s Mail software has introduced an interesting feature which automatically recognizes address, date, phone number, etc. from the body of e-mails. Regarding the detected information, the users could directly add events in their calendar application, new contact in their address book or retrieve map direction from Google maps.

You’ve got for example an e-mail which contains an address and a phone number.

When the mouse pointer goes over such data, it automatically recognize such data (note that a small rectangle has appeared).

When you click on the rectangle, a small window pops up which presents the available actions that the user could perform.

The purpose of this project is to write a plugin that performs data detection directly in converstations similarly to Apple’s Mail.
